There’s no place like home

As you know I’ve embarked upon a ‘photo a day’ challenge for 2013 and so far, so good although finding subject matter when you work 9-5 and the sun goes down at 4 can prove tricky, but I think I’m doing ok so far.

So as it is finally the weekend I thought I’d seize the opportunity to get out in the daylight and take some shots down at the South West corner of Guernsey known locally as ‘The Imperial’ after the hotel and pub situated nearby.

As you’ll see from some of the shots it was not exactly bright out, but it was still great to get out and about in some of the gorgeous surroundings that Guernsey has to offer. One of the things that struck me whilst walking was just how much there was to photograph on such a short walk, and how in many ways a lot of the landscape in this particular part of Guernsey could easily be seen in many Hollywood blockbusters.

It’s easy to forget just how lucky the residents of Guernsey are to have such amazing views a few minutes from home but days like today make you realise there really is no place like home.

Here are some of the shots taken on my walk:
