The Comic Relief red nose t-shirt has become somewhat of a phenomenon over the past few years, and 2013 is no different. Stella McCartney, who previously designed the t-shirts in 2009 returns with five designs modelled by many a famous face.
For those of you who want a slice of Stella on a budget, the t-shirts, available from TK Maxx are only £14.99, with £8 going to Comic Relief to help change lives across the UK and Africa. Made from 100% fairtrade cotton, the designs feature entertainment royalty such as Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles, Tommy Cooper and of course super model du jour, McCartney’s BFF, Kate Moss. As the t-shirts are available to buy for adults, kids and also tiny babies there is also a cute giraffe thrown in for good measure.
McCartney herself seems like a natural fit for designing clothes with a conscious, being a long time vegetarian and never using fur or leather in any of her designs. She says of the project “I admire the Red Nose Day team and their achievement for this incredible, worthwhile cause, and to be able to be supporting that is extremely rewarding.” This sentiment is clearly something echoed by the Comic Relief team who describe the t-shirts as “fashion that not only feels good but looks good too.”
And they’re not wrong, the Comic Relief red nose t-shirts do indeed look great and celebs from Fearne Cotton to Les Mis man of the moment Eddie Redmayne to Kate Moss herself have all been donning them in a bid to boost the money raising efforts of Comic Relief. See below for some of my fave celebs rocking their red noses with pride.
So they’ve chosen their favourites, I’ve got my favourite (got to be the ever amazing Ms Monroe!) but which one is yours? Thankfully, you’ve still got a few more weeks to decide as Red Nose Day 2013 isn’t until March 15th. And even if you can’t do something funny for money at least you can still have fashion with a conscious.
