Recently I’ve been listening to two songs on repeat – Daft Punk ft Pharrel Get Lucky (absolute summer tune!) and Falling by awesome new girl group Haim.
Often compared to music legends Fleetwood Mac, sisters Este, Danielle and Alana hail from the San Fernando Valley, California and formed Haim (said ‘hime’ rather than ‘haym’) in 2006, although they didn’t start releasing music until last year, with debut EP Forever.
As well as being championed by Radio 1 DJs like Nick Grimshaw, Huw Stephens and Greg James the band were also named as the ‘BBC Sound of 2013’, following in the famous footsteps of the likes of Ellie Goulding, Jessie J and the almighty Adele.
Personally I’m obsessed with not only the “nu-folk meets nineties R&B” style of their music, but their fun, laid back California ‘grunge boho’ look, which is all long flowing hair, Chelsea boots and Cara Delevinge-esque face pulling.
